Welcome!

Sandra Smith, Conference Chair 2012How are you attending to the emerging story of your life?

What allows you to notice when you’re living in lockstep with your Enneagram type?

What wakes you up from your habitual patterns to the possibilities that life invites you to experience?

What is your relationship to JOY? The JOY that rises from within?

When you need and desire conversation with another who speaks “Enneagram,” one who gets your type’s gifts and challenges, to whom do you turn?

Opportunities for such conversation await you at the October 18-21 EANT Conference 2012. Whether in type groups, sharing a meal, or during a break, moments for connecting with and learning from each other will abound. With the theme OPENING TO JOY, we'll explore the expansive capacity of JOY and its plentitude in our lives when we shift from pattern to presence.

Quote, by Poet Mary Oliver

JOY brings us into a larger context than we've arranged for ourselves. It reminds us of life's abundance and allows us to greet life with a both/and approach, dissolving duality and opening our hearts to loving more fully.

Our Friday morning keynote presenter, Tara Brach, will engage us as we consider the "Three Gateways to Peace and Freedom" through which we return to our JOY-full Essence. Following our keynote, we'll learn from panel interviews -- as only the Narrative Tradition can do! -- body movement, networking sharing sessions, presentations, and type groups. With open minds, tender hearts, and grounded presence, the stories of our lives gather to be shared, witnessed, and held.

With EANT President Mary Anne Wampler and the 2012 Conference Planning Circle (Ronda Diegel, Suzanne Dion, Theresa Gale, Jude Marston, Pat Martin, Joyce Plaza, Marilyn Williams, and Beverly Wise), I invite you to join us as we experience and receive the joy that arises in our Narrative Tradition community each time we come together.

Is there a conversation within you beckoning to be shared? A question or two nudging at the seams of your mind for dialogue? Are you full of enthusiasm for this powerful Enneagram work, have new insights and want to share them? The time is set and the place is being prepared for you.

Make your October plans now for the journey to the DC area. Reston, Virginia to be exact. The cool air and brilliant colors of autumn await us.

In anticipation,
Sandra Smith, M.Div.
